JUDGEMENT DAY FOR CYRIL’S ANC
Posters ripped down, a President on a broken train, burning books, returning crooks and De Lille and the DA back in court. It’s election time.
On 8th May South Africans will go to the polls in what is arguably the most anticipated election since 1994. Since the last national election in 2014, the full scale of the state capture project has been unveiled, important state institutions decimated, public confidence in government undermined, the economic lethargy has become endemic, and Eskom simply cannot put an end to its woes. Yet since the last election, there has also been a change in leadership in the ANC and a new President is at the helm who has embarked on a substantial ‘turnaround strategy’. This will be the public’s first opportunity to cast judgment on Ramaphosa’s ANC.
